Vascular Surgery Clinic

Specialized Care and Treatment of Vascular diseases with Scientific evidence and Respect for the patient.

Vascular Therapy

Our Goal

The "Vascular Therapy" website was created as part of the operation of the vascular surgery practice of Dr. Triantafyllos Giannakopoulos.

The purpose of the website is to provide information about the way the practice operates, as well as about the most common vascular diseases , presenting them in a simplified and understandable way and using illustrative materials such as drawings and animations.

The philosophy

It is our belief that it is the vascular surgeon's responsibility to explain the patient's condition in detail and thoroughly, as well as the mechanism behind the development and persistence of the disease, and to confirm that the patient has fully understood their health issue.

Only in this way can the patient truly benefit, as they will be able to understand the therapeutic strategy explained by their attending surgeon, while also modifying their lifestyle in such a manner that the therapeutic result is achieved quickly and has the longest possible duration over time.

The lead Vascular Surgeon and Scientific Director of Vascular Therapy, Mr. Triantafyllos Giannakopoulos, sees patients by priorappointmentat the Vascular Therapy facilities.

At our patients' disposal is a modern color ultrasound (Color Duplex – Triplex), and a handheld continuous Doppler system for measuring the ankle-brachial pressure index (ABI).

Minor Aesthetic Vascular Surgery procedures that do not require anesthesia are performed in a specially designed and fully equipped treatment room.

Our Facilities

The Patient at Vascular Therapy

The patient is the one who suffers, and the health condition they face causes a sense of discomfort and/or pain, while also carrying the risk of worsening if not treated in a timely manner.

In most cases, by the time a patient reaches the Clinic, it means that the human body's complex compensatory mechanisms have already been exhausted, and the condition requires external intervention.

In Medical Science, every intervention in the functioning of the human body, regardless of how radical it may be (from lifestyle changes and medication administration to endovascular or open surgery), is decided upon in order to achieve beneficial (benefit) results.

Nevertheless, as in all sciences, even though it sometimes approaches zero, the probability of complications (risk) is never zeroed out. Similarly, the success of an intervention, no matter how much it tends toward 100%, is never guaranteed.

At Vascular Therapy, everything is determined by the patient, since the risk is individualized based on existing conditions and all potential interventions are weighed according to the risks they carry.

In accordance with Hippocrates' explicit command "to help, or at least to do no harm," we guarantee that the patient is recommended the solution with the greatest possible benefit and the lowest possible risk.
